Take a couple minutes to complete our survey to say which issues are most important to you.

It was not that long ago that the ideas driving our campaign were considered fringe or extreme. What did we want that was so scary to Republicans? Raising the minimum wage to a living wage. Too radical. Guaranteeing health care to all as a right, not a privilege. Too radical. Aggressively combating climate change. Too radical. Reforming our broken criminal justice and immigration systems. Too radical. Not taking money from super PACs and the rich. Too radical.

Well, today those same ideas are supported by not only the majority of Americans, but also by many other candidates for president. That is thanks in large part to our political revolution. Now we’d like to hear directly from you about which issues matter most to you in this campaign.

Take a couple minutes to complete our survey to say which issues are most important to you.

Make no mistake about it, this struggle is not just about defeating Donald Trump. This struggle is about taking on the incredibly powerful institutions that control the economic and political life of this country.

And while we have won some victories in recent years, our struggles have not always been successful.

So as we begin another campaign, it’s important to hear directly from you about the issues that motivate you. Because at the end of the day, it is the issues that drive the success of our campaign.

Share which issues you care about most by taking a few minutes to take our survey.

Your feedback is important. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us today.

We’re going to win this election not because we have a super PAC funded by billionaires. We’re going to win this election because we will put together the strongest grassroots coalition in the history of American politics.

That is the message we sent in Brooklyn at our first official campaign event. We are going to finally create an economy and a government which works for all Americans, and not just the 1 percent. While Donald Trump wants to divide us up by the color of our skin, our country of origin, our gender, our religion and our sexual orientation – we are going to do exactly the opposite. We are going to bring our people together – black, white, Latino, Native American, Asian American, gay and straight, young and old, men and women, native born and immigrant.

As we launch this campaign for president, you deserve to know where I come from – because family history heavily influences the values that we adopt as adults.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, in a three-and-a-half room rent-controlled apartment. My father was a paint salesman who worked hard his entire life, but never made much money. My mother raised my brother and me.
I learned a great deal about immigration as a child because my father came to this country from Poland at the age of 17, without a nickel in his pocket. He came to escape the crushing poverty that existed in his community, and to escape widespread anti-Semitism. It was a good thing that he left Poland when he did because virtually his entire family there was wiped out by Nazi barbarism. -Bernie in Brooklyn Rally

So when I announced our presidential campaign, we set an ambitious goal of getting 1 million people — people of all backgrounds and from every community in this country — to sign up and say that they are committed to doing what it takes to win this election. The only way that we will win this election and create a government and economy that work for all of us is by building a grassroots movement the likes of which has never been seen before in American history.

Well, I am happy to share that yesterday Deborah from Brownstown Charter Township in Michigan was the millionth person to add her name and join our fight.

We did it. We hit this first important goal we needed to reach if we’re going to win this campaign. But the truth is, that goal is just a start.

Make no mistake about it. The special interests in this country have unbelievable power and they want to maintain the status quo.

They have unlimited amounts of money to spend on campaigns and lobbying and have huge influence over the media and political parties.

But while they have the money, we have the people. And that’s important.

Because if we are going to pass Medicare for All, we are going to have to take on the insurance companies.

If we are going to lower drug prices, we’re going to have to take on the pharmaceutical industry.

If we are going to pass universal background checks and an assault weapons ban, we’re going to have to take on the NRA.

If we’re going to pass a Green New Deal and fight climate change, we’re going to have to take on the fossil fuel industry.

If we’re going to shut down private prisons, we are going to have to take on and defeat a very powerful private prison industry.

If we are going to have a foreign policy that focuses on democracy, human rights, diplomacy and world peace, we are going to have to take on the military industrial complex.

If we are going to create trade policies that reflect the interests of working people, we are going to have to take on very large and powerful multi-national corporations.

If we are going to create an economy that works for all of us and not just the wealthy few, then we are going to have to take on Wall Street and the billionaire class in this country.

And the truth is no candidate and no president, not even the greatest president you could possibly imagine, is capable of taking on all of those industries and all of those groups alone.

But together, we can create a nation that leads the world in the struggle for peace and for economic, racial, social and environmental justice.

Together, we can defeat Donald Trump and repair the damage he has done to our country.

Brothers and sisters, if we stand together, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.

Not me. Us.

Thank you for helping us reach this first milestone for our campaign.

In solidarity, Bernie Sanders

This is it!

We are just a little bit away from being able to say more than 1,000,000 people have added their name to support Bernie’s run for president.

But before that happens, we wanted to give YOU a chance to be the one who reaches that number for our campaign.

Add your name here for your chance:

Bernie is going to call number 1 million. Hopefully it’ll be you.

All our best,

Team Bernie

As the clock ticks toward midnight, we’re pretty close to reaching a pair of milestones we frankly didn’t think would be possible on day one.

First, we’re just short of 350,000 signatures from people saying they support Bernie’s campaign for president. That’s 35% percent of the way to goal. Amazing.

But what we didn’t expect is that more than 140,000 people would donate as well. Reaching 150,000 donations before midnight would send a pretty powerful message about the strength of our movement.

If you are able to chip in $3, we’re going to do it! And we’re so close it could be your contribution that gets us there. Use this link:

Thanks for making day one such a success.
