“Moscow Mitch” McConnell is Being A Shameful Republican Partisan
You find no better example of reckless endangerment of our country and elections than the work of Mitch “Moscow Mitch” McConnell. Shameful partisan obstruction of any recourse the American people have to the criminality and collusion with Putin that permeate the Trump campaign, Trump administration, and the whole Republican Party. As with most posts here, I’ve included a petition. Plus some actionable content for you.
Sign this petition re: impeachment trial in the Senate
Dear fellow MoveOn member,
Mitch McConnell stated this week that he will not allow any direct witnesses to testify in the Senate impeachment trial against Donald Trump.1 This is unacceptable. Mitch McConnell is not fulfilling his oath of office as Senate majority leader. He should call all direct witnesses to testify, because Americans have a right to know the truth.
Sign this petition demanding that Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans allow direct witnesses to testify in the Senate impeachment trial.
The House of Representatives impeaching a sitting president is historic and deserves to be taken seriously by the Senate. Unfortunately, however, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are falling into their political lines and staying complicit with the greed and corruption of this administration.
If Mitch McConnell continues to stop witnesses from speaking in front of the Senate, he is protecting an administration rife with bribery, obstruction of justice, and corruption.
If this administration has done no wrongdoing, then these direct witnesses will be able to provide President Trump some very much needed exculpatory evidence. If there was no wrongdoing, Republicans, McConnell, and this administration should have nothing to fear from the questioning of first-hand witnesses.
First-hand, direct witnesses should be required to testify in front of the Senate for a fair impeachment trial. The American public has a right to hear the truth.
Thanks for all you do.

Last week, the House brought two articles of impeachment against Trump. This week, they voted to impeach him. Now, your Senators have the power to remove Trump from office. But they need to hear from impeachment supporters like us. We need to tell the Senate to hold a fair trial, where witnesses testify and your Senators listen. Will you join us and call your Senators today?
On a mobile device?
On a desktop, computer, or tablet?
Thanks to your hard work and activism, the House of Representatives successfully impeached Donald Trump on Wednesday. We have the power to make the same impact in the Senate. Let’s finish what we started. Ask your Senator Who is Moscow Mitch McConnel representing with his Trump collusion and stack of bipartisan bills held like hostages. Don’t be like that shameful Republican covering up Trump-Putin!

We Did It! Celebrate With Need to Impeach
The House of Representatives just voted to impeach Donald Trump and in doing so sent an unmistakably clear message – a President who attempts to subvert our democracy and elections for personal gain WILL be held accountable. No one is above the law.
We would not be at this moment without your activism and support. For over two years, we have been sending endless calls and emails, organizing, and knocking doors. Because of your work, we kept up the fight. America has taken the first step to protecting the 2020 election and our democracy from a corrupt, self-serving tyrant.
Thank you for everything you have done to help impeach Donald Trump. It has made all the difference.
Top 3 Actionable Steps To Work For The Removal Of Donald Trump.
We have three important updates for you regarding the lead-up to the House vote on impeachment, which is expected to take place tomorrow.
1. Our calls to Representatives are working. But we can’t let up now.
One call can change your representative’s vote on impeachment. There are just a few hours left to influence the outcome of the House vote. Will you join your friends and neighbors who are calling Congress before this historic moment?
2. Our message to Senators: How can you look at yourself in the mirror?
Tomorrow, we will deliver handheld mirrors to everyone in the Senate. Why? Because a Senator who votes to support a tyrant and subvert our democracy, our elections, and our national security should have to look at themselves in the mirror before they vote. If you don’t already, make sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates this week.
3. #NotAboveTheLaw Events
Tonight, impeachment supporters across the country are coming together to send a message to Congress: in our America, nobody is above the law. Will you join tens of thousands of your neighbors and community members?
Short update on impeachment: we’re hearing news from Congress that offices are being deluged with calls about impeachment, but not the calls we want. Some offices are reporting three times as many calls from right-wing anti-impeachment callers than pro-impeachment voices. And we’re getting reports from the Hill that some moderate Democrats are waffling on their position.
And don’t forget that every vote matters. And every call counts. This is our opportunity to impeach and remove a President who puts his personal interests above our national security, elections, and democracy. Nobody is above the law. Click here to call your representative and demand that they hold Trump accountable.

Presidential Primary Survey: 2020 Presidential Candidates
Dear MoveOn member,
The race is heating up! As we head into 2020, with the Iowa caucuses set for February 3, we now have 15 declared candidates. Primaries are an important part of our democratic process. A robust primary allows us to debate what we stand for and what we’ll fight for. We are now seeing a robust debate play out in many ways. As candidates debate the policies and practices that they would institute if elected president, it remains unclear what Democratic voters will prioritize, and whether they’ll elect a moderate Democrat or a bold progressive.
MoveOn’s power and direction come entirely from our members. We need your input as we continue to plan our work together. Over the next several weeks we will be exploring the best ways that MoveOn can have an impact during this election season.
Can you participate in MoveOn’s Presidential Primary Survey? Please note this is just a survey, and not a binding vote—it’s to give MoveOnStaff a sense of where our members are as we consider next steps in the presidential primary process.
We will use this information to help as we continue to plan our work over the months ahead. Your participation is critically important.
Thanks for all you do.
