Morning Consult just released their latest poll of early primary state voters, and it has Tom soaring to fourth place. We’re not ones to count our chickens before they hatch, but there is something exciting to celebrate: voters across the country are hearing our message of giving power back to the people.
We have the power to give a real voice to the issues of climate change and corporate greed in this primary. But we’ll need everyone on board to make it all the way past the finish line.

Let’s be clear: Donald Trump must be impeached because he has committed the high crimes and misdemeanors that demand it. But the stakes go far beyond that. Every day that we don’t impeach is another day that Trump uses the office of the presidency to attack people of color, strip immigrants of their human rights, threaten the hard-won progress of the LGBTQ+ community, and degrade any woman who disagrees with him. Yesterday, the Bay Area Need to Impeach community showed up to tell Nancy Pelosi in person that we can’t wait any longer. That we must impeach NOW.
While Speaker Pelosi accepted a lifetime achievement award from the San Francisco Democratic Party, hundreds of us were out in force to let her know that her lifetime achievements shouldn’t include allowing the most criminally corrupt president in history to remain in office. The time has come for her to clearly and emphatically support formal impeachment proceedings.
While the House leadership is stalling, support for impeachment among members of Congress is at an all-time high. You are the reason for this momentum.

I just got off the stage at the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting, where I talked about the need for a higher standard and our winning path.
If we want to beat Trump and clean out the corruption in Washington, it’s going to take more than just one candidate with a vision. To end the corporate control of our democracy, everyone must reject any corporate donation, no matter how big.

How can we expect to hold Washington to a higher standard, if we can’t hold ourselves to it first? It’s time to draw a bright line between us and the Republicans. They are willing to put their corrupt corporate backers before the needs of the people who elected them. We refuse to do the same.
It takes all of us to do the right thing.
